Claire is clerk to the council and also the Responsible Finance Officer.
The clerk is the 'Proper Officer' of Clayton Parish council employed under s112 (1) of the Local Government Act 1972. Responsibility for implementing the decisions of the council rest with the clerk along with giving professional advice where necessary. The clerk is there to ensure that all statutory and other provisions governing or affecting the council are adhered to within it's legal powers.
The clerk is not based at the office but enquiries can be made between the hours set out below.
