Clayton Parish Council are engaged in a number of projects. Some of these are short-term projects to provide a specific outcome, whilst others are longer-term strategic projects to ensure services are sustained for the benefit of Clayton residents.
Some of the recent projects that the Parish Council has supported are listed below.
Clayton Village Library is a much valued asset for many people within Clayton. Clayton Parish Council works in partnership with Bradford Libraries and a 'Hybrid' model has been formed. Our volunteer coordinator recruits and trains volunteers to work alongside a member of staff from Bradford council. The agreement is now in place until April 2024.

One of the oldest and most recognisable parts of the village, the roundabout at Green end is planted up each year by Bradford Works. They are a social enterprise company based in Shipley. The Parish council pays for their services to attend and maintain the roundabout which always looks resplendent.
The Parish Council now has an Events Committee who provide oversight of Parish Council events throughout the village.
Events such as the Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Short story competition, Remembrance Sunday to name but a few.
Clayton Village Hall is a central focal point and centre of activities for Clayton residents. As such the Village Hall acts as the meeting place for Clayton Parish Council who work with Clayton Community Association to ensure essential maintenance of the Village Hall is undertaken.
We helped by way of a grant in 2017 to develop the play area at Thoranby Drive.
The Parish council is wholy responsible for the allotments on Pasture Lane. Anyone interested in applying to should contact the clerk in the first instance.

In 2018 the Parish council applied to the National Lottery for funding to install 4 defibrillators alongside the Clayton Liberal Club and Clayton WI who also fundraised for one each. The village is now well supported with 6 units of vital lifesaving equipment. The Parish Council is now repsonsible for the weekly checks and any ongoing maintenance such as replacement of the pads, checking the batteries are all still working for example. These units have been accessed on a number of occasions and have made a huge difference to the village.
